New Maintenace Request System

Good morning, everyone!

I have exciting news to share this morning regarding the online maintenance request system that we use here in the residence halls!  The exciting news is that we have a brand new system this semester.  You will now be able to track your maintenance requests from the time you submit it until it is completed via email.

You will still find the maintenance request system online through my Seaport.  However, now, when you submit a maintenance request, you will automatically be sent an email telling you that it has been received.  Then, you will receive an email letting you know it has been completed or what the progress is if they're not able to fix it right away.

We hope that you will find this system much more user-friendly and be happy with the progress that Housing Operations has made for you the resident!!!

Please let me or your RA know if you have any questions!

Until next time...

Returning Student Room Sign-up

Good morning, everyone!

I know I have gotten a lot of emails in the past few days from some of you wanting to know more information about the Returning Student Room Sign-up for the 2011-2012 school year.

I have good news for you!  There will be a presentation right here in the Landing tonight about the Returning Student Room Sign-Up process.  The presentation will be at 7pm in the building 7 lobby.  Some professional staff members from Housing and Residence Life will be present to inform you about all of the details of the process.

Any of you who are considering living on campus again next year should consider attending this session!

Until next time...

Welcome Back!

Hello Landing!

Welcome back for the spring semester and welcome to those new students living in our area this semester!

To get things started, we will ease into the new semester with an update about a Welcome Back program going on this evening!

Start off 2011 right… We’re aiming for you! We’ll have free food, caricature artists, and giveaways as well as members from our student organizations who will be ready to welcome you back into the new semester with fun games and new ways to get involved. We’ll also have everything you need to get ready for the 7pm Men’s Basketball game against Georgia State – including body paint – so get ready to Get Your Teal On!

This event will take place from 5-7 pm in the Warwick Center on campus!  We hope you'll come out and consider getting involved on campus!

Until next time...

Today's post will be dedicated to sending you off to your winter break!  I know many of you have your only finals today and then will be heading home for the holiday.  I hope you find it very restful and refreshing!  We will see you when you return in January.

To those of you that are graduating, best of luck in your future endeavors!

If you have any questions in the coming weeks about the move-out process or room change process for your Landing apartment, please feel free to contact me at kolkmeierk@uncw.edu.

Thursday's Thanks

Good morning, everyone!

This week, we're sending our Thurday's Thanks out to 3 people.  However, all three of these people have two things in common:
1.  They are graduating in December.
2.  They are currently desk receptionists in the Landing.

We went to send a big Landing Thursday's Thanks to Danielle Smith, Brittany Creech and Jarod Blakeman for all of their service to the Landing!  We will miss your smiling faces next semester and very much appreciate all the hard work you put in helping the residents of the Landing every week!

Best of luck in your next chapter in life!

Until next time...

Community Meetings

Good morning, everyone!

This is just a reminder to be on the lookout for emails/fliers from your RA notifying you of when your community meeting will be this week.  During this meeting, your RA will discuss the winter transition process, how to check out of your apartment if you're moving out of the Landing, etc.

If you have any questions regarding the winter transition process or how to sign-up for a check-out time with your RA, please see your RA, email me, or go to the Housing and Residence Life office and ask the staff there.  Don't be afraid to ask questions!  We want to make sure you have all the information you need to make this as seamless as possible!

Until next time...
