Thursday's Thanks
Good morning, everyone!
This week, we're sending our Thurday's Thanks out to 3 people. However, all three of these people have two things in common:
1. They are graduating in December.
2. They are currently desk receptionists in the Landing.
We went to send a big Landing Thursday's Thanks to Danielle Smith, Brittany Creech and Jarod Blakeman for all of their service to the Landing! We will miss your smiling faces next semester and very much appreciate all the hard work you put in helping the residents of the Landing every week!

Community Meetings
Good morning, everyone!
This is just a reminder to be on the lookout for emails/fliers from your RA notifying you of when your community meeting will be this week. During this meeting, your RA will discuss the winter transition process, how to check out of your apartment if you're moving out of the Landing, etc.
If you have any questions regarding the winter transition process or how to sign-up for a check-out time with your RA, please see your RA, email me, or go to the Housing and Residence Life office and ask the staff there. Don't be afraid to ask questions! We want to make sure you have all the information you need to make this as seamless as possible!

Scorchin' and S'mores
Good morning, everyone!
Tonight there is a program coming your way that is both educational and fun! A staff member from Environmental Health and Safety will be coming to the Landing to show students how to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire and will help students to make s'mores at the same time. Come on out to learn the correct steps to P.A.S.S. and enjoy some warm, melted, chocolatey goodness at the same time!

I Can Transform Ya...
Good morning, everyone!
Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! I hope it was nice and relaxing for each of you.
I want to make you aware of a leadership opportunity on campus that can transform ya! Many of you interact with people in this leadership basis on a regular basis and have been impacted by the ways they help your experience here as a student. This leadership position is the Resident Assistant position.
The Resident Assistant is responsible for an on-campus residential floor, wing, pod, building, or area. The Resident Assistant serves as a facilitator to encourage a positive and welcoming, healthy and safe, cooperative and considerate living environment. The RA is expected to help build a strong, inclusive community by initiating and organizing floor, wing, pod or hall activities and programs. The RA serves as an information resource for the campus and residence hall. The RA also serves to assist with the personal and academic concerns of the resident and to help manage conflicts that may arise in the residential area. Therefore, an RA is expected to be a person who cares about their residents and continuously strives to make the residence hall a valuable and educational place to live.
The responsibilities of the Resident Assistant are numerous and varied. The following is a representative list of Resident Assistant responsibilities.

Winter Transition
Good morning, everyone!
Happy last day of classes before Thanksgiving break!
As many of you know, we are headed into a period known as Winter Transition. This is the period of time when many students will be moving out because they are graduating, transferring, withdrawing, have an internship in another city, etc. Others will be moving out because they are moving to another apartment in the Landing, Crossing, or Village. For all of these students, it is very important that they are aware of the procedures involved with the transition period.
There is now a bulletin board posted in the Seahawk Landing office which contains a lot of information that any student who will be moving for any reason will need. Come check it out!
Also, be on the lookout for an upcoming winter transition meeting with your RA to take place one day next week.

Housing and Residence Life Focus Group
Good morning, everyone!
Tonight at 6 PM a special focus group will be taking place here in the Landing. Brad Reid, Director of Housing and Residence Life, Larry Wray, Association Director of Residence Life, and Nic Troutman, Associate Director of Housing Operations will be coming to the Landing to talk with you- the residents!
Come to building 6's lobby at 6 PM to give feedback to Brad, Larry and Nic about your experience living on campus.
FREE pizza will be provided at the focus group as well.
We hope to see you there!
